Downspout Drain Line Repair
Replace crushed, clogged or missing buried downspout lines so roof water gets away from the foundation.

The roof of an average Kitsap home sheds thousands of gallons in a single heavy storm, and all of it comes down the downspouts. If the buried lines that carry it away have been crushed by a vehicle, separated at a joint, clogged with roof grit and leaves, or were never installed at all, that water dumps at the foundation. Wet crawlspaces, settling, and foundation seepage very often trace back to a downspout line that quietly failed years ago.
We find the failure, dig out the bad section or the whole run, and replace it with solid PVC or HDPE on a proper grade to a working outlet with cleanouts where they're useful. Where there was never a buried line we install one. Where the outlet was a buried pipe end that nobody can find, we rebuild it as a daylight outlet, a pop-up emitter, a dry well, or a tie-in to the yard drainage system. The trench is backfilled in lifts and the beds or lawn put back.
This is quick, high-value work that often gets done alongside a footing drain repair or a French drain on the same property. If the crawlspace is wet, the downspouts are the first thing we check.
When you need downspout drain line repair
- Water pooling at the base of a downspout in rain
- A downspout that backs up and overflows at the elbow
- A wet foundation wall or crawlspace below a particular downspout
- A sinking spot in the lawn or bed along the drain route
- No visible outlet anywhere for the roof water
How the job goes
- Test and trace. Water run through each downspout, outlet checked, route traced, failure found.
- Excavate. The failed section or the whole run, with care in planting beds.
- Replace. Solid PVC or HDPE at proper grade with cleanouts, connected to a real outlet.
- Backfill and restore. Compacted lifts and the beds or lawn restored.
Equipment and materials
- Solid PVC and HDPE drain pipe
- Downspout adapters and cleanouts
- Pop-up emitters, dry wells and outlet structures
What shapes the scope
Every property is different, and these are the things that decide whether a job is a quick morning or a full day. We'll tell you which it is before we start.
- Number of downspouts and length of the runs
- Whether an outlet exists
- Planting beds and hardscape along the route
