Suquamish, WA

Two utilities, mixed-era housing and Agate Pass shoreline clay in the heart of the Port Madison reservation.

Flooded condominium lawn with cones and plywood around the excavation

Suquamish sits on Agate Pass across from Bainbridge Island, within the Port Madison Indian Reservation, and water service here comes from either Kitsap PUD or the Suquamish Tribe's own utility depending on the parcel. We work with both. In either case the utility's responsibility ends at the meter, and the line from the meter to your house, under your driveway and your yard, is yours. That is the line we locate on and repair.

The village near the dock and Suquamish Way has mid-century homes on small lots, and the lines under them are often copper or galvanized from the 1950s and 60s. Those fail at fittings and foundation penetrations and are usually a hand-dug repair once we've pinpointed them. Along Totten Road, Augusta Avenue and out toward Sandy Hook the lots open up, the runs get long, and we bring the mini excavator.

The shoreline soil is till with clay seams that hold water, so a leak near Agate Pass tends to stay hidden and then show up as a wet crawlspace or a soft spot in a driveway. On the hardpan uplands toward Indianola a leak will eventually surface, but often well downhill of the break. We locate acoustically and with a correlator, and we dig where the break is, not where the water came out.

For emergencies, water-bill mysteries, or a line that has failed one too many times, call 360 Leak Finders at (206) 354-9906. We're on the Kitsap side and we answer around the clock.

Leak detection in Suquamish

Suquamish locates start with confirming which utility serves the parcel, Kitsap PUD or the Tribe's utility, because the meter is where we begin. The village's mid-century lines fail at fittings and foundation entries; the Totten Road and Sandy Hook runs are long and the Agate Pass shoreline clay hides water.

Water line repair and replacement in Suquamish

Village repairs are copper and galvanized to PEX at foundations. Longer runs along Totten Road, Augusta Avenue and toward Sandy Hook are poly replacements with the mini excavator. We coordinate the meter side with whichever utility serves the lot.

Exterior drains in Suquamish

Clay seams along the Agate Pass shoreline hold water against foundations, and the hardpan uplands toward Indianola send runoff downhill across the lower lots. Footing drains and interceptor drains are routine here.

Excavation in Suquamish

Till with clay seams at the shore, dense hardpan on the uplands. Mid-size village lots with reasonable access; longer parcels where the machine does the work.
