Enetai, WA

East Bremerton's bluff-side neighborhood where mid-century copper lines fail on slopes that drain toward the bay.

Technician shoveling in a muddy, water-filled excavation pit at night

Enetai is the East Bremerton neighborhood on the bluff above Port Orchard Bay, looking across at Bainbridge Island. It was built out mostly in the 1950s through the 1970s, which means copper and early polyethylene service lines on lots that are either flat and conventional up on the plateau around Perry Avenue and Pine Road, or steep and sloped down toward the water along Enetai Beach Road and Trenton Avenue. Both kinds of lots leak, but they leak very differently.

On the plateau a leaking copper line will eventually push water up through the hardpan, usually near a fitting or where the line enters the crawlspace, and a locate is straightforward. On the bluff lots the service line runs from a City of Bremerton meter at the street down the slope to the house, and a leak anywhere along it drains downhill into the bluff. The water surfaces at a seep, a retaining wall or the beach, far from the break, and the clay in the bluff holds enough of it to raise real slope concerns if it goes on long enough.

We trace and pinpoint the break with acoustic equipment and a correlator before any digging, and on the slopes we work carefully with spoils on tarps and ground protection so a repair doesn't turn into an erosion repair. For lines that have failed before, or copper that has pinholed in several places, we'll give you a straight recommendation about replacing the whole run.

Enetai is minutes from us. For a water bill that doesn't make sense, a wet spot that won't dry, or a line that has let go at midnight, call 360 Leak Finders at (206) 354-9906.

Leak detection in Enetai

Enetai's bluff lots along Enetai Beach Road and Trenton Avenue surface water at seeps and retaining walls far below the break, and the plateau lots around Perry Avenue and Pine Road surface it near fittings. Both are City of Bremerton meters at the street, and both get a traced line and an acoustic pinpoint before any digging.

Water line repair and replacement in Enetai

Mid-century copper and early poly, failing at fittings, foundation entries and under driveways. On the bluff lots we manage the trench on the slope. On the plateau it's usually one hand-dug pit and a PEX transition.

Exterior drains in Enetai

The bluff above Port Orchard Bay holds water in its clay seams and the uphill plateau sends runoff down across the waterfront lots. Footing drains, curtain drains and properly outleted downspout lines are the standard package for an Enetai crawlspace that's wet every winter.
